This Internship provides a hands-on learning experience directly related to responsibilities that transfer to skills needed in a full-time position with Sedron.
The opportunity is available to develop, participate and learn key roles and functions for welding.
We are looking for Interns who like to build things, get their hands dirty, and who want to explore the possibility of a long-term career at Sedron in the future.
Because we design, build, commission, and operate our technologies, we are looking for individuals who can meet the following essential functions of the position:
Work with qualified welders to learn welding, blueprint reading, and material handling techniques
Read and work from mechanical blueprints and schematic drawings
Ability to follow instructions and ask questions when needed
Ability to comprehend and follow all safety policies and procedures
Basic understanding of weld symbols
Be comfortable operating hand and power tools including but not limited to; pneumatic grinder, wrenches, hammers, pliers, etc.
Proficient in basic mathematics
Must be able to demonstrate adequate weld skills
Must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
Perform other related duties as assigned
*Internships will start the first week of April*
EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS
Enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited technical college, and currently working towards a Degree in Welding in their second year
Student must be able to commit to a 10-12 week program, working 20 hours per week
Letter of recommendation from welding instructor is required with application
Minimum requirement for all positions is a high school diploma or GED
Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Wage range for this role is between $18.
00-20.
00/hourly
The range provided is Sedron’s estimate of the base compensation for this role.
Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities.
Must be a US Citizen or legal permanent resident for this position.
