Grandpa is selling his truck.
You know you've always heard that you should buy a used vehicle from the old guy down the road? He took really good care of it.
Babied it actually.
Kept in a heated garage.
Rarely drove it.
Washed and waxed it regularly.
Kept the maintenance up, put on the best tires.
Hardly drove it.
Well, here it is.
It's not perfect but it's a really sound and well cared for.
Only 127,500 miles.
When new it was a very expensive top-of-the-line truck since it had every feature Ford could put on a truck; Leather seats, electric windows and mirrors, outside temperature, compass, even a sun roof!! Its a on-demand four wheel drive (you flick a switch).
Great new-ish tires (Michelin).
Strong 6 cylinder engine.
No rust, no oil leaks, seats 5, quad cab, good brakes, etc.
Heat, A.
C.
, defrost, etc.
all work well.
Fiberglass canopy is solid and keeps the bed 100% dry.
No accidents, clean title.
OK, why selling and what doesn't work or needs attention you ask?
The sunroof doesnt open.
It needs its tiny motor to be replaced.
You'll easily find them in any Ford truck in any junk yard.
$50+-.
We didn't replace because it was just easier to put duct tape around the outside of the sunroof and drive on.
That's it.
It has a few minor imperfections (light scratches here and there) but none really noticeable.
Paint in really good shape for a 2001 truck.
Did we mention we kept it waxed and in a heated garage? Why selling? Bought a new car (which will sit in the garage, get waxed and probably be rarely driven.
)
Grandpa was a beekeeper, that's why the milage is so low.
I mean how many times can you go to Home Depot and Costco which is only 7 miles away and put on miles? Non smoker but his dog did like to go along.
It's a good solid used truck.
Lots of stress free miles left on it.
Grandpa thought he should just give it too his oldest grandchild (its that safe and road-worthy) but his granddaughter's parents said "no way is she driving a truck around Seattle!'.
They missed a good bet there!
