ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE CLERK We are in search of a diligent a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Clerk and General Accounting Support to assist our accounting team.
The perfect candidate will have familiarity with accounting software and a strong foundation in Microsoft Office applications.
JOB SUMMARY: The Accounts Receivable Clerk is responsible for acting as the company’s front line in the maintenance of customer accounts.
The Accounts Receivable Clerk’s primary scope is to ensure the timely and accurate processing of customer invoices, credits, and payments.
Exceptional organization, attention to detail, and communication skills are keys to success in this role.
This position reports up to the Accounting Manager.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Process and record customer invoices and credits Address and respond to customer inquiries.
Maintain electronic filing system for financial documentation.
Manage collection efforts and associated functions.
Monitor accounts receivable report to ensure timely customer payments.
Maintain and organize customer documentation.
Maintain and update logs and reports.
Requires making decisions that affect other people, financial resources, and/or the image and reputation of the organization.
Requires being exact or highly accurate, as well as meeting strict deadlines.
Requires coordinating with others in accomplishing work activities as well as responsibility for work outcomes and results.
Requires use of email as well as contact with others (face to face, telephone, or otherwise) EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent required 2 or more years’ accounting work-related experience or associate degree in accounting JOB REQUIREMENTS: Requires extended periods of sitting/standing as well as repetitive movement.
Requires repeating the same physical or mental activities over and over.
Requires work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions in close proximity to other people.
Requires clear and concise communication with the ability to speak/read English.
BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES: Strong oral and written communication skills Self-disciplined and capable of completing tasks independently.
Strong attention to detail with focus on accuracy, as well as deadline-oriented Strong problem-solving, multi-tasking, and analytical/research skills TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES: Intermediate technical proficiency with Excel is preferred.
Intermediate Word, Outlook, and instant messaging required.
10-key required Ability to navigate the internet and learn new systems.
Knowledge of Syspro or other ERP accounting software preferred.
